Designed by Paul Coughlin, Kenneth Miraski, Jennifer Leone, and David Briggs, Dave’s non-profit Gowanus by Design publishes the Gowanus Salt Lot Public Park. The proposal includes a new retention tank/headhouse facility, the Gowanus Field Station, a composting/greenhouse facility, and a passive recreation area surrounded by wetlands.

Dave is a guest critic at NC State’s final thesis project review in Raleigh, NC. The graduate architect and landscape architect students tackled a myriad of resiliency and planning challenges around the Gowanus Canal Superfund site.

September 2018

After several weeks of pedal-to-the-metal design and construction, Unity Preparatory Charter School opens its new high school in a former college building in Williamsburg. The project was led by Rachel Padowicz and Ed Jose, who did an amazing job managing the project under a very compressed time frame.

David Briggs presents his non-profit’s work at Gowanus by Design as part of the day-long seminar, “Planning for Sustainability at the Neighborhood Scale,” at the Center for Architecture. The event was hosted by the AIANY Planning and Urban Design Committee.

David Briggs is selected as the new co-chair of the Land Use/Landmarks Committee for Brooklyn’s Community Board 6.
