Office for Loci Architecture
When the adjoining suite became available, we designed our own office expansion as a light-filled work and conference area wrapping around an interior back office space that contains the samples library, kitchen, and print/server room. There is new custom-built furniture with natural linoleum, birch plywood, and aluminum legs; industrial shelving; Artemide lights; and bent steel display cases above homosote panels that were all thoughtfully specified. These materials contain high percentages of post-consumer recycled content and the finishes have reduced or no volatile organic compounds. Natural daylighting from the building’s large windows reduces our need for artificial lighting throughout the workday. The project reflects our firm’s sustainable design goals and the working environments we aspire to create.
