industrial loft office conversion
New York, New York

The loft renovation at 224 Centre Street transformed a 3,000 sf garment sweatshop in this landmark building, which was once an Oddfellows Hall, into a contemporary office suite. Interior waxed Homosote partitions divide the floor into three independent offices, which re-define the space without interrupting the sweep of the ceiling or the circulation of air through the loft. Complemented by the original maple floors and 16’ high ceilings, large windows allowed for the permeation of natural light throughout the offices and offered a reminder of the building’s colorful history.
