Our office provided full architectural services for the design and construction of a new four-story 5,400 sf green apartment building on a city-owned vacant lot. Energy efficient systems provide comfortable environments for the occupants while saving utility costs. The exterior work included an insulated high albedo PVC roof, a zinc rain screen system, bluestone trim, stucco, and brick veneer construction.
With a modest construction budget of $1.1 million, the project was a unique opportunity to create homes that integrate ecological design elements while meeting Harlem’s need for mixed income housing.
