520 eighth

commercial building exterior restoration
New York, New York

The largest property in the Newmark Knight Frank portfolio, the project includes three separate buildings: a 24 story building, a 22 story building, and a 12 story building that reflect contextual early-20th century architectural styles. The detailed exterior restoration of the buildings involves a vast range of materials, details, and construction methods, demanding meticulous analysis and repair. The work includes repairing and replacing ornamental terra cotta features, rebuilding parapets, new copper roof gutters and skylights, brick replacement, and balcony repairs. Loci Architecture is providing full architectural services: Local Law 11/98 inspections and reports, contract documents, bidding, and construction administration for this $5.1 million project.
